Here's what we were working with - a roof that had been patched and re-shingled so many times it was carrying three full layers of old shingles. That's a serious amount of dead weight sitting on top of a home, and underneath all of it, the decking tells the whole story.

When a roof gets layered over instead of properly replaced, problems stack up just like the shingles do. Moisture gets trapped between layers. You lose the ability to inspect the decking for rot or damage. And all that extra weight puts stress on the structure that was never designed to hold it. A proper tear-off is the only way to actually fix it right.

We stripped everything down to bare wood - all three layers - so we can see exactly what we're dealing with before anything new goes on. This is the part most homeowners never see, but it's the most important step in the whole job. No shortcuts, no covering up old problems with new shingles.

Once the decking is inspected, any damaged sections get addressed before we move forward with the new installation. This roof is going on leak-proof - a fresh start from the ground up. Stay tuned, because the finished product is going to be something worth seeing.
